Hubble Kitchens use DuPont™ Corian® to bring light to 1950's Wimbledon home

Inspiration from Down Under

Recently featured by EKBB in their October 2012 issue, Hubble Kitchens were involved in the design and manufacture of the kitchen for what was described as a "once dark, poky and badly-designed 1950s house".

Jonathan Harris and Shamani Surendran, who own the property, met in Australia where Shamani started doing interior design on properties they were renovating. Returning to the UK she has now set up SS Design Studio Corian® island

For the kitchen, Shamani teamed up with Richard Hubble at Hubble Kitchens and created a large L-shaped island as the focus. The island houses a sink, a hob, microwave and wine fridge and is topped by a seamless Glacier White Corian® worktop. The Corian® worktop is fabricated in-house by Hubble Kitchens and has been carefully designed to house the kitchen units with two slab ends to the floor at either end of the L-shape.

The resulting solution gives a sense of great space and light throughout the downstairs portion of the house.
