The key factor in designing a dental surgery is the requirement to pass the necessary compliance regimes in place. These mostly relate to ensuring that the working environment is as hygienic as possible. In today's competitive world design is also playing a role in putting over the right impression to patients attending the dental surgery.
Corian® ticks all the right boxes
have recently opened a new showroom in Horsham, West Sussex. Working closely with Custom Dental and Medical in Liverpool, Hague found that using Corian® gives them great flexibility on the design front whilst always knowing that it ticks the boxes from the healthcare compliance point of view.
The surgery highlighted above is a reflection on the faith placed in Corian®; everything from the worktops and sinks, as you might expect, to the doors, drawers, plinths and even the door handles are shaped out of Glacier White Corian®.
The ability to incorporate curved doors and shapes into the surgery design through using Corian® is another great benefit of the material. This softens the overall look and feel of the surgery.
It's not all white
Dentists like the chance to make their surgeries unique and individual. A key way of doing this is through the use of colour. White is traditionally the material of choice in healthcare - any stains, spills or marks show up and therefore can be dealt immediately; however some dentists want to add warmth or personality to the surgery and using colour is an easy means to achieve this.
In the example above the worktop chosen even matches with the dentist's chair to add that extra design element to the surgery.
Corian® is the dentist's material of choice
Years of tried and tested use of Corian® worktops have made it the go to material for the dental surgery. Now we are seeing its application spread to Corian® doors in the surgery as well - it is extremely hard-wearing as well as being hygienic so it is the perfect solution.
